How much will I peel?

You can expect to start peeling on or around day three and peel for about three to four days afterward. Each person's peeling experience is a little different; some may peel for more or fewer days, depending on the skin's condition. If this is your first VI Peel, it's also expected to peel for longer.

Why am I not peeling? Is this normal?

There are many reasons why you may not see the peeling. Even if you can’t see something with the naked eye, the peel still works for you and exfoliates at the cellular level to brighten and improve your skin’s appearance. Can I peel the skin that is hanging during the peeling process?

Do not pull back on the skin that is shedding. Using a clean, small cuticle scissor is recommended to trim the exfoliating skin. You can also gently wash the face to help remove the hanging skin, but do not rub excessively. If cleaning the face multiple times daily, add moisture to the skin by applying the Post Treatment Repair Cream (or Aquaphor if very dry). Don’t forget to use the VI Derm SPF 50+ to protect the skin during and after exfoliation. 

How often do I need this treatment?

Typically, 3 to 4 treatments are required in a year with a minimum gap of 4 weeks between each treatment.
